Rough Diamond Band !!


January 9th, 1997......I receive a call from Jesse Lowe....

"Yo, Dave....David Byron's band, the Rough Diamond band played Cleveland at the Agora ball room, in '77.

The concert was broadcast by a station there.... WMMS

Can you see if anyone possibly has a copy of the show?"

January 14th, 1997....."Detective Dave" calls WMMS (The Buzzard !) 
.....speaks to a gentleman, known ONLY as "Internet Matt".

Matt says...hmmmmm...it's a possibility.....let me put you in touch with someone here named Brian Chalmers ...maybe he can help you. Brian is into that kind of thing....

Brian and I talk about the show....he remembers the show !!!!....

"Let me see what I can find for you, and I'll get back to you"....

I express my thanks......

January 30th, 1997...I get voice mail...."Dave, this is Brian from WMMS. I was able to get those Rough Diamond Cassettes together. There is one of the concert and one of the interview they did with "Scene Magazine " !   "...plus printed materials, and some of the press release stuff that came out at that time, as well as the photographs that I took at the concert and before".

The package arrived at my house the next day, and I tell you, I was blown away ! The tapes include 2 full sides of the interview with the band: David, Clem Clemson, Willie Bath, Geoff Britton, and Damon Butcher. In addition, the concert itself....it is WONDERFUL to hear David again  in a different light !

WMMS in Cleveland has ALWAYS been at the forefront of the music scene here, and it would make sense that they would be the ones to have maybe the only recording of this concert !!

100.7, The Buzzard...yeah, they and I go WAY, WAY back ...

It's really great to be in touch with you guys again !
