..year one...

Well, gang....it's been a whole year...Damn ! Seems like only yesterday that I logged on to anglefire.com to make a Heeppage. Called it Dave's Den ....had 2 links, one to Hani So, and one to Jesse Lowe...I think it's still out there, but I forget the url ... I remember it was a Saturday afternoon.... Oh well. My, how far WE have come...yes, WE... None of us are alone in this thing... This thing ? What exactly is the thing? The thing is us, the Heepsters, Heepnet, Heep Gang, Lovers of Heep, Friends in cyberspace, call it what you will because whatever we are called is totally unimportant, but the names help us to bond...and communicate, and to be friends. So, ...here we are... Jesse's Echoes In The Dark Mag, 35 or so Internet sites either about Uriah Heep, or including links to other Uriah Heep sites, 100+ people on Mac's Heepsters mailing list...68 names listed on the Heepnet page, 73 names in my e-mail address-book (you all probably have as many), and 99% of them are related to Heep, and the net. ...and we all probably know each other ! Most of us have by now E-mailed Mick Box, or Ken Hensley, and have received replies back...pretty cool, I think... Some of now are starting to meet each other; Stem (Tim) and I....Alex and Bob (the nickname KING !) Winwardworld, and for sure, many others... There is talk about a convention of sorts again.... Our Heepchat has spawned the Eurochat, and they are soon to be combined into one.. We have been put at the top of late breaking band news from Hani's site, and between all the e-mails we get and send, and the great friendships we are making, this thing is becoming a full time job ! But one that I LOVE to go to ! There are some interesting things on the horizon concerning the band, and the web, and stuff, but I won't go into that now... All I can tell you is that.. WE are having a ball. The Heepsites are providing a great time, and good information for 1,000's of fans, all over the world...and isn't that what it's ALL about? I have been enjoying the hell out of all this, as I am sure you are...but, and not to get mushy here...it's you all that make it so great... All the e-mails, the recording stuff, family pictures, holiday cards, swaping of tapes, movies, how to find this, who has that....it's just great...AND...does provide a much needed outlet for those boring winter nights !
