Lunn's Irish Setters - Strongsville, Ohio

Maybe you've seen this picture of 9 Irish Setter puppies before ... it was featured on two Cleveland TV stations in 1995, it won all kinds of awards for the photographer, it's been on exhibit at the Epcot Center in DisneyWorld, and posters of it are still available at www.setterstuff.com. I'm owned by the front row-center puppy, Lunn's I Love Lucy (CGC, AAT).

SURPRISE ... Lucy grew up!

Then I brought home a playmate (?) for her!

Lucy and Gracie shared the same mother but had different fathers. I don't know what that said about their mother ...

"LUCY"

It's been written that the Irish Setter is "mischievous and independent, intelligent and stubborn, anxious to please and yet determined to have its way if it decides to go hunting or steal a treasure from closet or drawer". I couldn't have described Lucy any better myself though I would also emphatically add "good-natured" to the list of Lucy's attributes! :-)

"Fragile Circle"

"We who choose to surround ourselves with lives even more temporary than our own live within a fragile circle, easily and often breached. Unable to accept its awful gaps, we still would live no other way. We cherish memory as the only certain immortality, never fully understanding the necessary plan."

    Irving Townsend

If you're a regular reddogs visitor, then you know that my Gracie Annie-Fanny died suddenly and unexpectedly in May 2002. Although no one could take Gracie's place in my heart, one of the pups from Gracie's half-sister Robin's litter, born 3/22/02, made Lucy and me a family of 3 again (and found his own place in my heart).

Meet Kirby

Then along came Kirby's half-sister Fancy and now we're a family of 4!

Meet Fancy

Please think twice...when you patronize a pet shop that sells puppies, you're patronizing a business that supports the continued existence of puppy mills.
