About Donald Sloan
Donald Sloan was born in 1956 in Queens, New York. He has received
degrees from Cornell University, University of Michigan and the Eastman
School of Music, where his principal teachers were Karel Husa, William
Albright and Samuel Adler respectively. He has received several awards
for his chamber works, as well as grants from Meet The Composer. He was
on the faculty of Binghamton University for eight years, and is
currently on the faculty of Ashland University, where he teaches
composition and music theory. In addition to his work as a composer, his
research interests include work on international standards for digitized
representation of music notation, and fuzzy set theory.
