Far ranging responsibilities including: producing, play selection, project management and staffing, board development, all aspects of fundraising, financial planning, publicity, media relations, marketing, recruitment and coordination of volunteers and interns, supervision and training of staff, public speaking, building site selection and rehabilitation, artist support, directing, musical direction.
During my tenure, CPT grew from a fledgling organization presenting one summer Shakespeare production ($5,000 budget) to a nationally recognized experimental theatre (TCG Member) with a year-round season of new works (theater, dance, music, and performance art), an innovative arts education program for inner city youth, several multicultural international touring ensembles, a full-service computer-based composition and recording facility for the use of area artists, a $275,000 budget, and its own building.
Founding member of Cleveland's feminist theatre company. Script committee, FemFest '96; publications; fundraising; cyber-publicity.
Develop press material and web pages re: member productions, awards, and publications. Developed original member play index. Major contributor to the ICWP-L discussion list, the ICWP newsletter, and its FAQ. Chief liaison with Ohio State University's Jerome Lawrence & Robert E. Lee Theatre Research Institute in developing the ICWP script and administrative archive.
From March-May, 1998, organized a worldwide effort via the Internet to free imprisoned Indonesian playwright Ratna Sarumpaet, including: developing a web site, sample letters, and organizing/publicizing a series of over 27 worldwide readings of her large-cast play Marsinah to publicize her arrest and imprisonment and raise funds. Ms. Sarumpaet was freed on 20 May 1998.
