 EXCERPT

[JANNA has woken her husband DOUG to describe what seems like an angelic visitation. After some skepticism, he gets into it.]

DOUG

Shoot! I can't believe I slept through it. These visitations are well-documented phenomena. Especially around the millennia. I mean, go to any occult bookstore. Shelves and shelves of revelations, all kinds of people are writing them down these days. Especially with self-publishing. "What Illium of Zorcon revealed to me about Real Estate Investment Trusts" -- have you surfed the Web lately?

JANNA

Stop talking. I'm trying to remember it all.

DOUG

Did he say anything?

JANNA

It wasn't...What are you doing?

DOUG

(he's finally found the Bible, is paging through it) Checking the references. There are a lot of angelic visitations in here. Maybe we can find out who it was.

JANNA

Why does it have to sound like something that's already written down? Isn't that the point of a revelation?: something new. And anyway, the revelation came to me, not you.

DOUG

How do you know it was aimed at you? I was in the room. I know more about spiritual phenomena than you do. I was the one who thought about going to seminary. I had even applied.

JANNA

You were fast asleep!

DOUG

Like the disciples. Jesus kept having to wake them up.

JANNA

The Revelation was to me. I can't believe you're trying to take credit for my revelation! This is typical. You can't WAIT to get your hands on it.

DOUG

Why wouldn't I have one?

JANNA

Like I'm taking a message for you, your secretary? You are unbelievable.
