 EXCERPT

[KARA has just brought home an Easter Basket to DENISE.]

KARA

Hold it! Just give me two minutes, Denise, and we'll unveil Mr. Bunny, the caramel eggs, the Peeps --

DENISE

You got Peeps, too? Ooh, you rock.

KARA

But no peeking until I get back in here. Promise?

DENISE

Hurry up, then.

KARA exits into next room. DENISE waits for a moment or two, then begins rummaging through the packages.

DENISE

Where is it? Bunny, your ears are mine!

KARA (o.s.)

I mean it, Denise, no peeking.

DENISE pulls a box out of one of the bags. She stands shocked, in disbelief.

DENISE

What the hell?? (opens the box, recoils) Oh my God!

KARA enters, sees DENISE staring at the box in horror.

KARA

Oh shit.

DENISE

Kara, what the --!

KARA

I told you not to - damn it.

DENISE

What the hell are you doing, bringing this home?

KARA

My waiting period was over.

DENISE

Oh, and so you thought this would be a great addition to the Easter basket - Mr. Bunny, Peeps, and a Saturday night special?

KARA takes it out of the box - it's a revolver, small, black.

DENISE

Don't touch it!

KARA

Christ, it's not a snake, Denise. (flipping open the chamber) See, it's not even loaded.
